COVID-19: My Routine

COVID-19: My Routine

COVID-19 lockdown has disrupted the lives of all Indians. The situation is likely to remain so for an indefinite period. Since we have not experienced this unique threat in the past it is difficult to use past knowledge to evolve a firm plan. At individual level we should be prepared to evolve a sensible and productive plan for ourselves. This requires utilizing our proactive muscles. In order to guide students of No Frills Academy I am sharing my daily routine.

My Routine

  1. Get up: 04:45 AM
  2. Interview first student: 05:00 to 06:00 AM.
  3. Interview second student: 06:30 to 7:30 AM.
  4. Cardio exercise plus core exercises plus stretching exercises: 07:45 to 09:15 AM. I do all these at home. Running approximately 5 km takes about 40 rounds of a small place available. Unfortunately it is hard ground which is tough on my ankles and knees. However, I still do my cardio work out because it is better than rusting by resting and increasing fat mass. I utilize about 4 plans for running and footwork exercises to ensure variety and adequacy in endurance and speed.
  5. Discussion with students, reading & writing: 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM.
  6. Break: 1:30 to 2:30 PM (I do take some calls even during this time).
  7. Available to take calls of students or read or write: 2: 30 to 3:30 PM.
  8. Interview third student: 04:00 to 05:00 PM.
  9. Listen to some news, tea & snacks: 05:00 to 6:00 PM.
  10. Free hand strength exercises (because I have no access to gym now): 6:00 to 7:15 PM. I keep varying the routine. Today I did the following:
    1. Push-ups: 30 reps x 9 sets with variations.
    1. Pull-ups: 10-12 reps x 9 sets with variations.
    1. Single leg calf raises: 15 reps x 9 sets.
  11. Free: 07:30 to 08:30 PM.
  12. News, reading & writing & available to students: 08:30 to 09:30 PM.
  13. Free: 09:30 to 10:15 PM.

Plan Your Routine

This is a general routine I follow. There is scope for flexibility, catering to unforeseen stuff. Please use it as a guide to plan your routine. It is important to remain motivated, energized and maintain balance to remain productive in our lives. I hope this blog is of some use.
