I have referred to the Post published by Christopher Bergland on Mar 12, 2014 in “The Athlete’s Way” He has suggested eight habits that improve cognitive function. These are enumerated below:
 

Eight Habits that Improve Cognitive Function

  1. Physical activity: Take regular aerobic exercise & play games.
  2. Openness to experience: Be open to new experiences. Do things which you do not do as a routine. Try to learn new things.
  3. Curiosity and creativity: Be more curious to learn new things; visualize how things could be done differently; write, draw, exercise your imagination.
  4. Social connections: Good relations with family & friends help us remain calm & happy.
  5. Mindful meditation: Meditation makes us calm, reduces stress & increases our receptivity.
  6. Brain-training games: Cross words, Sudoku, etc.
  7. Get enough sleep: Sleep is vital for our memory & learning.
  8. Reduce chronic stress: This can be achieved by exercising, interacting with friends & meditation.
