I am Ashamed that Gen Rawat is the Army Chief
Please read this report:
India’s Chief of Army Staff has taken a public stand on the protests against the amendment Citizenship act, saying that instigating large crowds to turn violent and carry out arson doesn’t amount to leadership.
“Leaders are not those who lead people in inappropriate directions, as we are witnessing in a large number of universities and college students…the way they are leading masses of crowds to carry out arson and violence in our cities and towns.” https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/newsindia/army-chief-gen-bipin-rawat-on-caa-protests-making-crowds-carry-out-arson-violence-not-leadership/ar-BBYlIkf?ocid=spartanntp
My Message to COAS:
Sir, you have made political statements in the past as well. The statements have been primarily in support of Modi government. I had not commented on your past conduct. I do not expect our Army Chief to make statements without adequate knowledge. Hence, I assume that you are aware of the entire things. Modi, Shah & Yogi are speaking these things to discredit genuine democratic protest. No responsible person will support violence. However, PM, HM & UP CM are using Police for illegal violence to threaten & stifle dissent. The attacks by Police on government orders on Jamia, AMU and Muslims in various districts of UP were shameful. By your statement you are standing in support of these shameless politicians. I am convinced that the Indian Army does not agree with your stand and you are speaking just for yourself alone. With your statement you have made me feel ashamed that you are the COAS of India.
One thing you have done is settled one debate. Like Modi will be remembered as the worst PM in India’s history, you will be remembered as the worst chief ever in Indian history: so much for the lecture on leadership you were trying to give to an audience!
